Beauty Favourites

I just wanted to talk about my beauty favourites. They are 'favourites' for a reason, I mean this stuff has saved me from looking like a zombie fish this month. I have recently finished my exams, which meant I was breaking out like crazy. It was absolutely horrible and I wasn't really used to it, and that's when I turned to the LaRoche Posay Effaclar Range. I have been using the foaming cleanser, toner (Lotion Astringente Micro-Exfoliante), and the oh so famous Effaclar Duo(+). I have been using them together for a couple of weeks now, I can definitely see a change in the texture of my skin, the appearance of spots and my skin overall looks a lot nicer.
I have been using Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet as my everyday foundation. It is a light coverage foundation, with an absolute beautiful finish. The finish is velvety (as the name suggests), however it gives the most perfect natural glow and seriously just looks like skin. I was matched to the shade 40, which is the second darkest shade ( I'm NC37-40 in MAC ), and it really isn't very dark, I feel as though when get a tan in the summer, this shade won't suit me. I personally think this foundation isn't catered to very dark skins, which is a downer, but if you fall between the shade range then you should definitely give it a try it as the finish is perfect.
We have been experiencing a bit of sun recently (fingers crossed it stays), so I've been going a bit overboard with the bronzer. I have been using Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzer in 52, which is the darker of the two shades they do. It gives a beautiful sunkissed glow, without being shimmery or glittery and it isn't too orange either. I have been using this to bronze up my overall complexion. I have also been contouring with my Sleek Contour Kit in Medium, which I have been using for years now. The sleek contour kit is perfect for contouring as it is completely matte. So its safe to say I've been embracing the sun this month.

(Left: Sleek (yes I know I need to seriously get a new one), Right: Bourjois)
I have been using the Sleek Brow Kit in Light to fill in my eyebrows. I have dyed my hair a very light brown colour for summer and my natural eyebrows are Black, so I look very weird, and that's where the brow kit has come in, as it's great at making my eyebrows look a lot lighter. I use the darker wax first then I set the was with the lighter powder. I have also been using the powder in my crease as a natural crease colour.
My eye makeup has been quite minimal as I have literally only been using eyeshadow to highlight my brow bone. I have been using W.O.S and Foxy from my Urban Decay Naked Basics. W.O.S is a light pink and Foxy is a light yellow and I have been mixing them together for a neutral light matte colour and it has been working perfectly. The eyeshadows are very pigmented and blendable meaning they are excellent quality.
I got a free Eyeko Skinny Liner in Glamour this month, and I LOVE IT! It is actually amazing it is so black and I can create perfect wings with it. It is waterproof and doesn't budge throughout the day, it doesn't crumble and the thin nib allows me to create thin lines. IT'S JUST EXCELLENT.

Another Eyeliner I have been loving is the Rimmel Pencil in Taupe. I love putting this in my waterline as it brightens my eyes, as sometimes I can find white and cream to harsh against my skintone, however this just looks natural. Another eye-opening product I have been using is the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Waterproof Mascara. It is great at lengthening and thickening my thin straight eye lashes and my eyes just look so much bigger.

LIPSTICKS. My favourite things ever! But first lets start with how I make my lips look like Angelina's (I joke). I use Rimmel lipliner in Spice every single day. It is pretty much the same colour as my lips meaning when I line outside my lip line it doesn't look fake. I use this under every lipstick and even when I'm not wearing lipstick and it has amazing staying power. I have loved using the new Revlon Matte Balm in the colour Sultry. It is a dark nude/natural colour on me and is just a bit darker than my natural lip colour. I can wear this lipstick with any eye look and it doesn't look too heavy or drag-queenish (not that there's anything wrong with that). It is just a very nice everyday colour. Speaking of everyday colours I have also been loving a MAC lipstick in the colour Plumful. This is a midtone pink with purple undertones. On my skintone this colour looks very natural and I love it. It is a lustre finish, which means it is glossy and not too intense. It is perfect as an everyday shade. Bourjois has come out with there new Rouge Edition Velvets. OH MY GOSH. These are absolutely beautiful. They dry matte and are NOT drying at all. The colour Hot Pepper looks like it was sent down from heaven, it is the definition of the most perfect red. It is similar to MAC's Lady Danger in the sense that it's a Coral Orange Red, but to me it's even better.
